HaseMed Stool Sample Collection Sheet, 50-Piece Pack

The HaseMed Stool Sample Collection Sheet is a hygienic, single-use toilet insert that catches the stool above the water line so a clean, uncontaminated specimen can be transferred into a standard stool tube for laboratory analysis. Each box contains 50 individually sealed sheets, making it the right pack size for GP practices, gastroenterology clinics, occupational health teams and outpatient laboratories that run regular faecal diagnostics, as well as for patients who have been asked to collect a sample at home.

Instead of fishing a sample out of the toilet bowl or improvising with cling film and paper, users simply peel the adhesive strips, fix the sheet across the rear of the toilet seat, and close the lid over the front edge so it hangs above the water. The stool lands on the dry, flat surface of the sheet, stays separated from flush water and urine, and can be sampled directly into a tube or container using the spoon supplied with the lab's stool kit. After the sample has been taken, the entire sheet is dropped into the toilet, where it dissolves in water and flushes away without clogging the drain.

Key Features

  • Water-soluble, flushable material: Designed to disintegrate in water after use so the sheet can be disposed of in the toilet instead of household waste, reducing odour and handling.
  • Adhesive fixing strips: Two pre-cut adhesive zones hold the sheet securely on the rear of the toilet seat during collection, preventing slipping or contact with the bowl water.
  • Contamination-free sampling surface: The flat, dry catching area keeps the specimen away from flush water, urine and toilet residue, protecting the integrity of downstream assays.
  • Individually wrapped: Each of the 50 sheets comes in its own sealed pouch, so single units can be handed out to patients, kept in exam rooms or packed into home-collection kits without exposing the rest of the box.
  • Printed step-by-step instructions: Clear pictograms and numbered directions on every sheet guide first-time users through positioning and removal, which reduces failed or repeat collections.
  • Latex-free and odour-neutral: Suitable for patients with latex sensitivities and does not add fragrance or additives that could interfere with stool chemistry or microbiology results.
  • Practice-scale pack: The 50-piece box covers several weeks of routine stool sampling in a typical GP or gastro practice and stacks efficiently in clinic storage.

Clinical and Diagnostic Use Cases

  • Faecal occult blood testing (FOBT/FIT): Provides a clean, water-free collection step before the patient transfers material into the immunochemical test tube, improving sample quality for colorectal cancer screening.
  • Stool microbiology and parasitology: Supports reliable isolation of bacterial pathogens, ova, cysts and parasites by keeping the specimen separated from toilet water and chemical residues.
  • Calprotectin and pancreatic elastase assays: Helps gastroenterology teams obtain representative stool for inflammatory bowel disease monitoring and exocrine pancreatic insufficiency workups.
  • Gut microbiome and research studies: Gives study participants a standardised, reproducible collection method that reduces pre-analytical variability between sites.
  • Clostridioides difficile and GI pathogen PCR panels: Allows quick capture of fresh stool for molecular panels where contamination with flush water can dilute the target.
  • Home collection for lab drop-off: Lets patients self-collect in their own bathroom and deliver a usable sample to the practice or laboratory the same day.

How to Use

  1. Prepare: Wash and dry hands, open the individually sealed sheet and have the stool sample tube or container from the laboratory kit ready within reach.
  2. Lift the toilet seat: Raise the seat fully so the rear of the rim is exposed.
  3. Peel the adhesive strips: Remove the backing from the marked adhesive zones in the direction shown by the arrows on the sheet.
  4. Fix the sheet: Stick the adhesive strips to the rear inner area of the toilet bowl without letting the sheet touch the water, then lower the seat so the front edge of the sheet is held in place.
  5. Collect the specimen: Use the toilet as normal. The stool lands on the sheet above the water line.
  6. Transfer to the sample tube: Use the spoon provided with the laboratory's stool collection kit to move the required volume into the tube and close the cap tightly.
  7. Label and dispose: Label the tube with the patient's data and collection time. Drop the used sheet into the toilet and flush; it dissolves in water and can be disposed of with the normal flush.

Who It Is For

  • General practices and internal medicine clinics that hand out stool sample kits for FIT screening, GI symptom workups and parasitology.
  • Gastroenterology and proctology practices running calprotectin, elastase, microbiome and inflammatory marker panels.
  • Diagnostic and hospital laboratories that supply pre-analytical consumables to referring physicians and want to standardise how patients collect at home.
  • Occupational health, travel medicine and public-health services that need reliable collection for infectious disease screening.
  • Care homes and home-care services looking for a dignified, low-mess option for residents who need stool diagnostics.
  • Patients collecting at home on instruction from their physician, where ease of use is critical to getting a valid sample on the first try.

Important Notes

This sheet is intended for the pre-analytical step of stool sample collection and does not replace the laboratory's stool tube, transport medium or test-specific kit. Always follow the collection, volume and transport instructions provided with the requesting laboratory's assay. For single use only; do not reuse. Keep out of reach of children and dispose of unused sheets with normal household waste.
